“I like to experiment with smoking different meats and trying rubs to compliment them. One day I had purchased a large fillet of salmon with intention to smoke it on the grill. I was looking for a new rub that would work well with fish and noticed the pecan rub. I’ve found it to be perfect for salmon. I pat the salmon dry, then cover the meat with honey and liberally apply the pecan rub. I smoke it over indirect coals on a sheet of aluminum until flaky. The pecan rub is just perfect. Sometimes I have to go to different Hy-Vee stores to find it, but it’s well worth it.”
